Alissa Thomas

Alissa C. Thomas '11

Alissa Thomas is a junior who is majoring in both Classics and Near Eastern & Judaic Studies.
She hopes to connect and translate Latin and Hebrew texts when writing her senior thesis.
Although she had taken six years of Latin when she entered Brandeis, she was not planning to major in Classics.
After a course on Pompeii, however, she discovered "how amazing Classics could be." She says she found herself opting
to take classes she had never before considered, and realized that "Classics students and professors look forward
to their classes and even continue conversations after class -- a testament to the greatness of the Brandeis Classical Studies Department."
Contact her to learn more about what's "new" in Classical Studies and what it's like to be a major.
