COSI 175A — Data Compression and Multimedia Processing
[ sn ]Prerequisites: Undergraduates and combined BA/MA students must complete COSI 21a, COSI 29a, and COSI 131a and received a B+ or better. Other graduate students should have a background that includes at least what is covered in these three courses.
A seminar studying research papers relating to data compression and information extraction / understanding from multimedia, including content based image and video retrieval, object recognition, data analytics, and related applications of machine learning. Usually offered every second year.
