FELIX LIU KU '15
Felix is a senior at Brandeis University double majoring in Economics and Business. He will also be entering his first year in the BA/MA program in International Economics and Finance in IBS. He is an international student from Taipei, Taiwan, but was born in Spain and raised in Paraguay, and did not visit the United States until he started college in the fall of 2011.
Before Brandeis, Felix had no idea what he wanted to study. However, this all changed when he took ECON 2A with Professor Coiner. Professor Coiner’s energetic and animated lecture drew Felix into the world of economics, and subsequently, finance.
Felix completed an internship in an indigenous community in Ecuador during the summer of 2013. This experience really sparked his interest in community development through a more thorough understanding of economics and local agriculture. In the summer of 2014, Felix interned in a non-profit organization as its finance/accounting intern, and really got the chance to apply his studies in real-world situations, furthering his interest in finance.
When not in class, you can find Felix working in the Office of Students and Enrollment, planning Midyear Orientation for the class of 2018, and participating in the Student Union. Felix is also part of the a cappella group JFA (Jewish Fella A Cappella), and participates actively in the theater scene of Brandeis. Please don't hesitate to contact Felix with any questions you might have about the major/minor, or if you just want to chat.
