My name is Elizabeth Setren. I am a senior majoring in Economics and Math. I am interested in public sector, labor, and development economics. This summer I worked at the National Economic Accounts Research Group at the Bureau of Economic Analysis. In previous summers, I have studied the economics of childhood health investments at the Jacob France Institute at the University of Baltimore and researched affordable housing policy at the Institute for Policy Studies at Johns Hopkins University. In the future I plan to pursue a career in economic research.

Naomi Cohn '11

My name is Naomi Cohn. I am a junior majoring in economics, minoring in business and possibly NEJS. I am interested in behavioral economics and marketing. I will be taking macroeconomics and econometrics this year as well as classes in the humanities and sciences. In addition to class, I will be a TA for Econ 2a (intro to economics) and working as a Hiatt Advisor. This summer I interned for marketing at a nonprofit. I hope to one day open my own business and let the invisible hand of the market guide the way.

Darren Sandler '11

dsandler@brandeis.edu

My name is Darren Sandler. I am a junior at Brandeis majoring in economics with a minor in business.  Since my first semester here, I have been actively involved in Brandeis club life. In 2008, I spent my summer in India working with a rural NGO to help educate former child laborers.  My prior work experience includes an internship with a financial advisory firm where I researched mutual funds and assisted in a municipal bond refinancing project; as well as Mount Sinai Medical Center where I assisted in immunology research. Most recently, I worked in Washington DC for the Grameen Foundation, which aims to strengthen microfinance institutions and accelerate microfinance throughout the developing world. Having no exposure to the study of economics prior to college, I decided to major in economics because of its practical application to understanding world events and because the field trains the mind to think analytically. I am interested in economic development, social business, and social entrepreneurship. I am grateful for the opportunity to help improve your experience here!
