A degree in European Cultural Studies can lead in many directions. Some graduates have gone on to professional school (e.g., Law, Business, and even Medical School). Some have enrolled in Masters or doctoral programs in literature or in one or the related areas studied (History, Politics, Fine Arts, and so forth). Some have found positions in museums, international business, and school systems. In short, ECS prepares the graduating senior for any number of diverse futures.
"What makes ECS special is the opportunity to study not only literature by itself but how it relates to other disciplines - history, philosophy, the arts, film. A concentrator has the opportunity to follow varying threads that link the diverse cultures and historical periods, and to study in depth any particular issues that interest the student. This truly defines "mulitculturalism." --W. Marie Gaither, '95 |
