Prof. Ramie Targoff writes about lovers after death in Rome
The American Academy in Rome, where Professor Ramie Targoff is currently working under a Guggenheim Fellowship, has published an interview with her on the academy's website.
Professor Targoff, on sabbatical for the 2012-2013 academic year, has been in residence at the Roman institution since August. Her family is with her for the duration. The Guggenheim was announced last spring for Professor Targoff's work on her current book project, Posthumous Love: Eros and the Afterlife in Renaissance England, an exploration of Renaissance-era conceptions of what happened to lovers after death did them part. In her interview with the American Academy in Rome, Professor Targoff notes that she intends to complete the book in the next few weeks.
