SEA'S ACTION FOR CLIMATE CHANGE :
Sunday, Nov 15
From SEA:" Leadership Campaign (MAPS Group) Camp Out on Boston Commons + Bill McKibbon ( 350.org )
Here's an opportunity to make sure leaders hear your voices again at least one more time before the Copenhagen Climate Talks!
Join author and 350.org founder Bill McKibben in a march this Sunday, Nov. 15th, following his keynote address at the Mass. Climate Action Network conference. The march will leave at 5:30pm from MIT's Stata Center (32 Vassar Street, Cambridge) and will end with a rally at the Boston Common, camping headquarters of the Leadership Campaign. The Leadership Campaign is asking Governor Patrick and the Massachusetts Legislature to lead the way by taking a first concrete step towards 350ppm with a bill that would require 100% clean electricity in 10 years in Massachusetts! THE CAMP OUT: Students, religious leaders and community members from across the Commonwealth have refused to sleep in their homes and dorms powered by dirty energy until the state adopts a policy to Repower Massachusetts with 100% Clean Electricity in the next 10 years, transforming our economy and eliminating dirty fossil fuels. We sleep out to take responsibility of what powers our homes - and show we are ready for them to be powered only by clean sources. We also choose to sleep out in solidarity to the thousands of climate refugees that are involuntarily homeless, and the hundreds of millions more who will soon be joining them. We encourage you to join us every Sunday night to sleep on the Boston Common and lobby the legislature on Monday morning. This Sunday, November 15th we from Brandeis will be taking the 3:30 shuttle into Cambridge together. Want to join? Can't make it that early? Questions? Contact Galen at gpardee@brandeis.edu"
