Robert Nieske directs the University Jazz Ensemble. He was appointed a Brandeis Artist-in-Residence in 1997 and has recorded albums with the Jimmy Giuffre 4, Wolf Soup, and the Bob Nieske 3, in addition to performing with greats such as Charlie Byrd, Eartha Kitt, Attila Zoller, blues guitarists Ronnie Earl and Jay Geils, Tiger Okoshi, Dakota Stayton, John Blake, Jackie and Roy, Richie Cole, and Larry Coryell.
