Violinist Daniel Stepner of the Lydian String Quartet is also a member of the Boston Museum Trio and concertmaster of the Handel and Haydn Society. During the summers, he is artistic director of the Aston Magna Festival in the Berkshires. He has performed and recorded a wide repertoire on period and contemporary instruments. In addition to the Lydian String Quartet's many recordings, he has recorded chamber music by Buxtehude, Bach, Marais, Rameau, Vivaldi, Telemann, Mozart, Schubert, Charles Ives and Brandeis' Yehudi Wyner. Mr. Stepner studied in Chicago with Steven Staryk, in France with Nadia Boulanger, and at Yale with Broadus Erle. He teaches at Brandeis and at Harvard, where he collaborates with Professor Robert Levin in the teaching of Chamber Music: Performance and Analysis. |
