Arnel Blake Batoon
Blake was born and raised in the Bronx, New York. He earned his BA in Philosophy at Brandeis University with a minor in Legal Studies and has come back for more.
His interests lay primarily in Philosophy of Mind and Language, focusing on the metaphysics of perception and the semantics and pragmatics of demonstratives and definite descriptions. Also, he has recently come to enjoy the surprisingly topsy-turvy world of conditionals with great fondness. He wonders how to best describe their role in a theory of inquiry: what are they about, which ones (if any) are true, and what are the norms governing their proper use.
When not doing philosophy, Blake reads novels and webcomics, watches movies, and plays basketball and the guitar. He also enjoys talking about progressive rock.
