Will Edgecomb

Will grew up in the Finger Lakes region of New York and earned a B.A. in Philosophy from Ithaca College. His core interests are in cognitive science and philosophy of mind. In this research area, a popular objective is to account for the mind’s most remarkable properties (e.g. phenomenal consciousness, agency, unity of self) within a mechanistic framework. Will hopes to participate in this research project, as well as to debate its potential limits. He is also interested in philosophical methodology, namely in critiquing traditional dialectical techniques in light of recent findings from experimental philosophy and empirical psychology. In addition, Will has interests in evolutionary theory, moral psychology, and increasingly in political science as well. For leisure, he enjoys reading, cooking, backpacking, and adoring his wife.
