Marilana hails from Atlanta, Georgia and received her bachelor's degree from the University of Vermont where she studied philosophy. Her primary philosophical interests include egoism, agent-centered prerogatives, and other non-consequentialist theories of the good. She is also interested in biomedical ethics, and other topics such as speciesism, the essentials of personhood, and the moral significance between killing and letting die.
Marilana also works on campus as a writing tutor in the writing center and as an ESL tutor through the ESL Program.
When she is not pondering her own importance, Marilana enjoys music, vegetarian food, red wine, photography, gardening, yoga, and playing World of Warcraft.
