April Alario Class of 2002 Concentration: English Programs: Film Studies and Italian Studies

My project for the bus will be concerning religious faith. I will be doing a documentary in which I will interview young people (with a target age between 13 and 22) to investigate why so many youth leave the religion in which they may have been raised. Moreover, I want to study how what they perceive to be a loss in faith affects the rest of their lives in comparison with youth who feel that they have faith in God. Some of the indicators will include whether or not the youth have or have not done some of the following: dropped out of high school, tried drugs/alcohol, become or gotten someone pregnant, been arrested, had problems with depression, run away from home, has an eating disorder, is going or plans to go to college, and what their eventual career goals are. My question is if faith changes the way a young person sees the world relative to their environment.
