Thomas M. Shapiro is Pokross Chair of Law and Social Policy at the School of Social Policy and Management, Brandeis University and author of The Hidden Costs of Being African American. Black Wealth/White Wealth, which he wrote in collaboration with Melvin Oliver received critical acclaim and won several major awards, including the C. Wright Mills Award and the American Sociological Association's Distinguished ScholarlyPublication Award.
