Focus the Nation is organizing a national teach-in on global warming solutions for America—creating a dialogue at over a thousand colleges, universities, high schools, middle schools, places of worship, civic organizations and businesses, and directly engaging millions of students and citizens with the nation’s decision-makers. The intent is to move America beyond fatalism to a determination to face up to this civilizational challenge, the challenge of our generation. Young people deserve at least a day to address this critical time in human history.
Focus Brandeis

RECAP
This event took place on Wednesday, April 9th in many of Brandeis' classrooms.
Focus Brandeis was a day for Brandeis professors to voluntarily open their lectures with a discussion about the implications of climate change, as related to the topic of their particular class. From the destructive effects of acid rain on irreplaceable sculptures to the French government's actions on climate change to consumerism and patriarchy, a new window of perspective was opened for students. The awareness created has not only introduced many students to the topics of sustainability and climate change, but also allowed students who were already devoted to these issues to become more keenly aware of the many different contexts in which climate change plays a part. Focus Brandeis was a successful launch pad for the discussion concerning climate change and the environment at institutions of higher education .
