John Lewis Moore

John Lewis Moore joined Coexistence International in September 2008 as program manager. In this capacity Moore is responsible for the implementation of CI’s programs, especially those in the West Africa sub-region which focus on facilitating a network of coexistence allies. Moore also contributes to the development of CI’s publications and workshop programs.

Moore’s experience includes researching the intersection of traditional dispute resolution mechanisms and human rights in the context of refugee camp management; analyzing the role of youth in the wave of democratization in sub-Saharan Africa; serving as support staff during Track II peace negotiations related to intra-state warfare in Iraq; and completing an internship at “CDA Collaborative Learning Projects” promoting strategic thinking for international development programming in conflict and post-conflict environments.

Moore holds a M.A. in Dispute Resolution from the University of Massachusetts, Boston and a B.A. in Economics from Boston College. Moore is also qualified as a mediator in the state of Massachusetts. He has traveled or lived in 16 countries on four continents.
