Ethics Center Student Fellowship

Conserve the rainforest. Help fight AIDS. Spread literacy. Teach art to orphans.

Given the opportunity, how would you change the world?

Become an Ethics Center Student Fellow and spend next summer working on issues that matter to you in the international organization of your choice.

A Three-Part Experience

  • Spring 2009: Take a course of your choosing as academic preparation for your internship.
  • Summer 2009: Implement a project of your own design as an intern in the organization of your choice, anywhere in the world. Tackle issues of international importance like coexistence, human rights, international law, hunger relief, gender equity, development, education, global health, AIDS prevention, refugee assistance, or something even we haven't thought of!
  • Fall 2009: Take a course with the other Fellows to put the internship experience in perspective.

Award
Ethics Center Student Fellows receive a $3,500 stipend intended to cover travel and modest living expenses for a summer internship.

Eligibility
Ethics Center Student Fellows must be Brandeis sophomores or juniors in the fall of 2008. Students from any major are eligible. We are pleased to consider applications from those who have previously applied.

Deadlines
Thursday, October 2 - Preliminary project proposals due (optional, but strongly encouraged)
Monday, November 3 – All applications must be complete in the Ethics Center office by 5 pm

The ECSF 2009 application will not be ready until the end of the summer. Click here to see Application Info. for 2008. We anticipate no major changes to the 2009 ECSF program.
