Theodore Sorensen speaks on Cuba and Iraq
Theodore C. Sorensen, former special assistant to President John F. Kennedy and chair of the advisory board of the International Center for Ethics, Justice and Public Life, spoke to Brandeis students and faculty on November 19, 2002. His topic was "The Cuban Missile Crisis Remembered." Sorensen reflected on the nature of decisionmaking during the thirteen day crisis in 1962, and commented on the contemporary preparations for war in Iraq. Students in "World Politics Since 1945" (Professor Seyom Brown) peppered Mr. Sorensen with questions on his own personal role in the Cuban Missile Crisis, his views on the Bush administration, and what larger lessons might be learned from both situations by policymakers.
