The Student Fellowship program has been recrafted and expanded!

Adventurous, self-starting Brandeis sophomores and juniors can apply for a $3,500 stipend to do an internship somewhere in the world in the summer of 2006.

Now called the Ethics Center Student Fellowship, instead of the Ethics and Coexistence Student Fellowship, the program keeps the same acronym but has a different title to emphasize the expanded focus. Coexistence remains an option, but students may also do an internship dealing with other issues of international import such as human rights, international law, hunger relief, gender equity, development, education, global health, AIDS prevention, refugee assistance, etc.

Other changes include:

  • Potential Fellows will apply with a project of their own design and intended internship organization.
  • Students may take any class in the spring as academic preparation for the summer internship.
  • The application deadline is now November 1 (see below)

The Fellowship itself is a three part experience: a spring course, a summer internship anywhere in the world in an organization working on issues of international import, and a fall course to integrate the spring academic learning with the summer practical experience.

Information Sessions will be held:

  • Wed Sept 7 from 5 – 6 p.m.
  • Mon Sept 12 from 4 - 5 p.m.
  • Tues Sept 20 from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m.

Refreshments served. All info sessions will be held in the Atrium of the Abraham Shapiro Academic Complex (ASAC), across the peripheral road from the Heller School.
