Appeal from Harsha Nawaratne, Chairman of the Sewalanka Foundation

Dear Friends and Associates,

As you will be aware the tsunamis that hit the Sri Lankan coast line on 26 December 2004 have destroyed hundreds of villages, killed over 4,500 people and displaced over one million people. This is the worst natural disaster that the people of Sri Lanka have ever faced.

The Sewalanka Foundation has launched an appeal for the people affected. Those that have survived are now in urgent need of basic supplies like cooked food, drinking water, dry rations and cooking utensils. In order to purchase these we have established a separate bank account where money can be directly donated by those concerned and wishing to help.

The details are:

  • Account Holder: Sewalanka Foundation
  • Bank: Hatton National Bank, Boralesgamuwa, Sri Lanka
  • Swift Code: HBLILKLX
  • Account Number: 1120097748

We URGENTLY need your help to meet these needs. The Sewalanka Foundation website, being updated to keep you posted on where monies received is being spent.

We thank you for your thoughts at this time and hope that we can work together.

Kind regards,
Harsha Nawaratne
Chairman, Sewalanka Foundation
