Artist and Writer Conducts Performance and Week-Long Collaborative Workshop

Tim Miller, an internationally acclaimed performance artist and author, conducted a week-long workshop from November 14 to 19, 2005. By the end of the week, participants had collaboratively created a performance based on their own life stories.

On November 16, Miller staged a free public performance of his latest show, Us. Us looks at growing up gay in the United States and raises timely issues of same-gender relationships and spousal immigration rights. The performance was followed by a Q&A session with the audience. On Saturday, November 19, students who participated in the week-long workshop with Miller performed Body Maps, stories based on their own life experiences.

Hailed for his humor and passion, Miller's work as a performer and writer explores the artistic, spiritual and political topography of his identity as a gay man. His performances have been presented across North America, Australia and Europe.
