Volcker Committee Releases Report on Oil-for-Food Bribes

The New York Times reported today that the Independent Inquiry Committee, charged with investigating abuses of the U.N. Oil-for-Food Program, has implicated a number of foreign and domestic vendors in giving kickbacks to the regime of former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein.

Center Advisory Board member Richard Goldstone is a member of the committee. Goldstone was Justice of the Constitutional Court of South Africa until October 2003 and was the Chief Prosecutor of the United Nations Criminal Tribunals for Rwanda and the former Yugoslavia.
