April 18, 2008

The film Constantine's Sword, the story of James Carroll, an Ethics Center board member, opens today in New York City. Carroll and director Oren Jacoby will appear tonight and tomorrow at New York theaters showing the film. It will screen in selected U.S. theaters on upcoming dates.

The documentary follows Carroll, a writer and former Catholic priest, as he explores the roots of religiously inspired violence and war. For more information on the film, see http://constantinessword.com/.

The film follows Carroll's book Constantine's Sword: The Church and the Jews, A History (2001), which was the subject of a symposium held at Brandeis. For a report on that symposium, click here.
