ECSFs Profiled in Brandeis Magazine

Rachel Kleinbaum '08, a 2007 Ethics Center Student Fellow, and Naomi Safran-Hon '08, a 2006 Ethics Center Student Fellow, are featured in the Summer 2008 issue of Brandeis Magazine. Rachel and Naomi were two of the three graduating seniors profiled in an article on students who have engaged in social justice work across the globe.
Rachel, from Rutherford, New Jersey, was a double major in Latin American and Latino Studies and Sociology with a minor in Social Justice and Social Policy. For her ECSF internship, she traveled to Quetzaltenango to work for UTQ, a coalition of labor unions. A recipient of the 2008 Elise Boulding Sociology and Social Activism Award and a Jane's Travel Grant, Rachel plans to travel in South America.
Naomi, who majored in Fine Arts major, is from Israel and was a recipient of the Slifka Coexistence Scholarship to study at Brandeis. For her ECSF internship, she worked in the Art Therapy Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa, assisting with exhibitions of art produced by AIDS orphans in art therapy workshops. She has been accepted into Yale University's graduate program in fine arts.
