Center Staff Participate in Conference at Al-Quds
May 4, 2009
Center Director Daniel Terris and Mari Fitzduff, director of the Center’s Master of Arts Program in Coexistence and Conflict, took part in a conference on “Women, Leadership, State, and Society” on May 3. The conference, organized by Al-Quds and Brandeis universities, was held on the Al-Quds campus in East Jerusalem.
Featuring faculty and administrators from both universities, the conference emphasized issues surrounding women and leadership in higher education, government, and community-based organization. Terris chaired a session on women’s leadership in the university while Fitzduff discussed “Women and Parallel Politics in Divided Societies” in a session titled “The Politics of the Possible.”
The conference was created through a partnership between Al-Quds and Brandeis universities, which has included faculty, student, and administrative exchanges. For more information on the partnership, click here.
