Center's Director of Programs in International Justice and Society featured speaker at National Association of Women Judges' Annual Dinner Meeting

Leigh Swigart, the Center's Director of Programs in International Justice and Society, was the featured speaker at the National Association of Women Judges' District One Annual Dinner Meeting April 20th. The meeting also featured opening remarks by Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court Chief Justice Margaret Marshall.

Swigart spoke on "The Women and Men Who Decide the World's Cases," discussing her work with the the men and women who serve on the benches of international courts and tribunals, work that resulted in a book, co-authored with Daniel Terris (Brandeis University) and Cesare P.R. Romano (Loyola Law School): The International Judge: An Introduction to the Men and Women Who Decide the World's Cases.

In addition to providing a general background for the institutions that make up the international justice system, Swigart spoke about women who have served with distinction on the international bench, including several former US judges.
