National Society for Experiential Education www.nsee.org

National Society for Experiential Education (NSEE) is a nonprofit membership association of educators, businesses, and community leaders. Founded in 1971, NSEE also serves as a national resource center for the development and improvement of experiential education programs nationwide. NSEE supports the use of learning through experience for:

  • intellectual development
  • cross-cultural and global awareness
  • civic and social responsibility
  • ethical development
  • career exploration
  • personal growth

Campus Compact www.campuscompact.org

Campus Compact is a national coalition of more than 950 college and university presidents - representing some 5 million students - dedicated to promoting community service, civic engagement, and service-learning in higher education.

Bentley College

The Office of Service-learning coordinates service-oriented internships and provides student scholarships and grants and logistical support for faculty teaching service-learning courses.

Emory University

The Office of University-Community Partnerships and the Theory-Practice Learning initiative offer grants to faculty and graduate students using experiential pedagogies and serve as a clearinghouse of resources on community-based learning.

Mt. Holyoke College

The Weissman Center for Leadership and the Liberal Arts has three programs focusing on aspects of leadership development. One is the Community Based Learning Program (CBL) which offers opportunities for students to earn academic credit for projects in partnership with local community groups.

Tufts University

The University College of Citizenship and Public Service is a university-wide initiative to make the values and skills of active citizenship a hallmark of a Tufts education. The College's strategy is to catalyze civic engagement and community building by identifying, generating, and supporting Tufts students, faculty, staff and alumni and community partners who develop creative, effective approaches to active citizenship at the university and in communities around the world.
