Violin, Lydian String Quartet. Chamber music performance and analysis. Her interests and expertise range from performance of music from the baroque (period instruments) to music composed in the twenty-first century. Interest also in diverse musical traditions, local/hybrid/fusion.
Profile
Founder and second violinst of the Lydian String Quartet in residence at Brandeis University since 1980. She performs, commissions, premieres, and records many new works. Teaches violin and chamber music, with emphasis on how interpretation is informed by context. Founder and Director of MusicUnitesUS whose mission is to further the understanding and appreciation of diverse cultures through music. Teaches Introduction to World Musics at Brandeis. Adjunct teaching at The Boston Conservatory, Founder and Co-Director of Music from Salem, faculty at numerous summer festival, performances in chamber music.
