ProfileAnahi Russo Garrido is the Allen-Berenson postdoctoral fellow in Women's and Gender Studies at Brandeis University. Her research focuses on gender and sexuality in Latin America, change, space and place and queer and feminist theory. More particularly, her current work investigates queer intimacy in Mexico City. Her courses have focused on transnational sexualities, global feminisms, social justice organizing and LGBT and queer studies. She has worked with women’s rights organizations in Mexico, Canada, and the United States. She is a member of the collective Tepoztlan Institute for the Transnational History of the Americas and has been a board member of the Center for Lesbian and Gay Studies at the City University of New York. She is the co-editor of Building Feminist Movements and Organizations and has published articles on queer Mexico City in Women Studies Quarterly, NWSA Journal and the Journal of Postcolonial Cultures and Societies.
