Expertise

I am a museum educator passionate about bringing the values and benefits of learning in and through art museums to the field of general education. I am currently the Deputy Director for Learning and Engagement at deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum in nearby Lincoln, MA. There I work with a team to offer interdisciplinary, participatory experiences to museum visitors and students from ages 2 to 92. My particular interests are family engagement and professional development for preK-12 educators in the arts, science, history, and language arts. My close work with the on-site, Reggio Emilia-inspired Lincoln Nursery School brings a collaborative, reflective, emergent curriculum approach to education in a broad range of venues for students and teachers at all levels.

Prior to deCordova, I was the Curator of Education at the Addison Gallery of American Art at Phillips Academy in Andover, MA, focusing on deep work with K-12 public schools, teachers, students, and community-based organizations, especially those in Lawrence, MA.

Profile

I teach "Looking with the Learner," an experiential learning education class and CAST elective that brings together Brandeis undergraduates with Waltham elementary school students at the Rose Art Museum through a seven-week practicum.
