The Board of Overseers is responsible for providing counsel and oversight to the Brandeis International Business School (IBS) in various aspects of the School’s operations, including strategy, planning, and fundraising. The Board of Overseers meets on a regular basis on the IBS campus. Board members play a critical role in developing new concepts for the School’s innovative and globally focused business degree programs.

The members of the board come from a wide range of industries. They are leaders in their respective fields, and thus are well positioned to provide guidance to the IBS.

The current chairs are Alan Hassenfeld and David R. Hodes '77.

Alan Hassenfeld, Co-Chair of the Board of Overseers

Alan Hassenfeld is the Chairman of Hassenfeld Family Initiatives, a philanthropic organization whose goals are to globalize safety and human rights within the area of children's products, empower women in developing countries, and undertake initiatives to improve the economy, education, and business opportunities in Rhode Island. David R. Hodes '77, Co-Chair of the Board of Overseers

David R. Hodes is a founder and Managing Partner of Hodes Weill & Associates (HW&A).  HW&A is a New York-based advisory, capital raising and principal investment business with additional offices in London and Hong Kong.  The firm provides advice and solutions for a wide range of challenges impacting a rapidly changing real estate private fund industry. The company leverages the principals' global network of investor and fund manager relationships, and knowledge of the real estate private equity and private funds market.
