Director of the Perlmutter Institute for Global Business Leadership
The International Business School at Brandeis University is seeking a highly experienced and accomplished individual to serve as Director of the new Perlmutter Institute for Global Business Leadership, which has been designed to prepare the next generation of leaders of international entities. The position will involve interacting with executives and officials at the highest levels of companies, universities, and public institutions.
The Perlmutter Institute for Global Business Leadership:
The Perlmutter Institute was established to help develop the business leaders of tomorrow through its support of teaching and research at the International Business School. The Institute will act as a bridge between the theoretical and technical knowledge that students master in their academic studies and the pragmatic skills needed for success as leaders in the business and financial worlds. It will seek to instill in students the strategic mind-set that effective leaders require in the complex and dynamically changing global environment, particularly through exposure to real world problems and interaction with seasoned practitioners.
Responsibilities of the Director:
The Director will be responsible for developing and implementing the strategic vision of the Perlmutter Institute through close collaboration with the International Business School’s Dean and faculty members and the Institute’s Advisory Council.
The Director will oversee the operations and budget of the Institute, develop courses with faculty, manage the Perlmutter Fellowships program, and direct conferences on issues of global leadership. He or she will cultivate partnerships with corporations, professional and financial-service firms, overseas universities, government agencies, and the Brandeis faculty and administration. The Director will coordinate marketing and communications for the Institute, establishing, maintaining and expanding its visibility and public profile. He or she will work with the Advisory Council to develop fundraising opportunities.
The Director of the Perlmutter Institute will have an extensive track record of global leadership in business or finance at a senior level. He or she will have an existing network of influential leaders and the capacity to work with the Dean to aggressively extend the Institute’s reach into the business, finance and public policy communities. The Director will be familiar with emerging global business, financial and geopolitical developments, and will have the vision to shape the Institute and focus its thinking on the issues that bear most closely on leadership in global corporations and financial institutions.
