Tuition for 2013/14 is $43,988 (or half that for one semester). Students should anticipate a 3-5% annual increase in tuition costs for future years. Partial or full tuition waivers are frequently issued to students accepted in the PhD program.
Expenses
Living expenses for a single individual on an economical budget are around $12,000-$14,000 for the academic year.
Financing your degree
The PhD program offers strong support to a small number of students. Students are typically financed in one of three ways:
- Outstanding candidates receive complete awards including full tuition waiver, stipend, and teaching or research assistantship tenable for up to four years.
- Some students who do not qualify for a complete award may be offered partial awards.
- Several students are primarily supported by their home governments, by a US government scholarship program such as the Fulbright program, or by other private or personal resources.
