Brandeis students may apply to the BAMBA program in or after their senior year. It is wise to start preparing for the application earlier, however, by taking courses and gaining work experience that will be weighed in the admissions process.
The actual application is online, here. A checklist of what you will need is below. Contact IBS Admissions with any questions.
The application requirements differ slightly between the two tracks of the BA/MBA.
BS/MBA and BA/MBA-Science application checklist
- Application form, including essays and $55 application fee
- BS in any major at Brandeis or a BA in any field of Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) at Brandeis
- At least two entry-level undergraduate courses in Business or Economics, such as Econ 2a, Bus 6a or Bus 10a (*)
- At least two undergraduate courses dealing with the applications of a science, such as the courses in this list.
- Official Brandeis transcript
- Work or professional-level experience in a lab or business is valuable, but not required
- Curriculum Vitae
- Three letters of reference (one from a supervisor at work, and two from Brandeis faculty)
- A personal interview with staff at IBS Admissions
- GMAT or GRE scores; the code for Brandeis IBS is 3122. (These may be waived for the application itself, but must be taken before enrollment in Fall.)
BA/MBA-Liberal Arts application checklist
- Application form, including essays and $55 application fee
- BA in any major at Brandeis
- At least four courses in Business beyond the entry level courses for the Business Major or Minor, i.e. any Business course beyond Bus 6a and Bus 10a (*)
- Official Brandeis transcript
- Work experience in a business function is required; normally at least two summer or part-time internships (military service may count as work experience).
(*) Some, but not all, of the courses that we count for admissions purposes may exempt you from core requirements in the MBA. Others will grant general credit toward the MBA, but not exempt you from specific requirements. See this this document for course listings that exempt from core requirements.
Note: As a new program, the specific admissions requirements may be adjusted over time. Students believe that they may lack one or the other of these requirements, but whose background and goals fit the BA/MBA program well, should contact IBS Admissions to discuss their case.
Application deadline is May 1, 2013. If any part of your application will be late, please discuss this in advance with the IBS Admissions Office.
You will be notified in May.
