PhD Program
The Brandeis International Business School (IBS) PhD program is highly selective. It requires a strong background in economics and mathematics, as well as a serious commitment to research and/or advanced analysis. The ideal candidate maintains:
- an excellent academic record as an undergraduate
- outstanding analytical skills and GRE scores
- interest in international issues
- motivation for challenging graduate study
Undergraduate studies should include microeconomics and statistics as well as competence in linear algebra & calculus. An undergraduate major in economics and/or a master’s degree is not required.
Apply
To maintain the high quality of the program and its optimal size, the PhD Program admits new students once every two years. Applications are due by January 15, 2014 for students who wish to begin PhD studies in Fall 2014.
Entering classes vary from 7 to 10 students, out of the approximately 150 applications received.
