Leading economists address global economic crisis

     

In a symposium sponsored by the Rosenberg Institute of Global Finance, noted economists Martin Feldstein and Allen Sinai joined former Bank of America Chair and CEO Richard Rosenberg for a provocative discussion about the global economy. Arthur L. Goldstein, Chair of the IBS Board of Overseers and Professor Catherine Mann, Acting Director of the Rosenberg Institute, spearheaded the effort to organize this event.

Community leaders take center stage

Through the IBS Practitioners Engagement Program, 70 business leaders representing a wide variety of industries shared their insights with students. Guests included Christie Hefner '74, recently retired CEO of Playboy, Roger Berkowitz, President of Legal Sea Foods, and Marshall Carter, Deputy Chairman of the NYSE Euronext Board.

IBS salutes 192 graduates from 43 countries
at Commencement

At its 15th Commencement exercises, IBS conferred degrees on 192 graduates. Peter McPherson, President of the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities, delivered the Commencement Main Address urging the graduates to "play your part in the great issues of your day.”

Andrew Molinsky on ‘cross cultural fluency’

IBS Assistant Professor of Organizational Behavior Andrew Molinsky was interviewed by NPR's "All Things Considered" about helping students adjust their behaviors to accommodate different customs and business practices across the globe. He also wrote a feature article in BizEd regarding this skill he calls "cross cultural code switching".

Frenchalum named one of this year's '36 under 36'

IBS alumnus Daniel Rouach was recognized for his community building efforts in New York City. As a result of his efforts, "The Jewish Week" named him among the "forward-thinking young people who are helping to remake the Jewish community."
