    Barbara Clarke MA '91
After over a decade in international management consulting, Barbara left to join the non-profit world. In 2002, she helped create Cradles to Crayons, an innovative, start-up non-profit that serves poor and homeless children. Since September 2006, Barbara has been the executive director of The Children's Room: Center for Grieving Children and Teenagers, Inc. which provides support to children after the death of a close family member, typically a parent or a sibling. She also serves on the board of directors of the National Alliance for Grieving Children. Barbara is pleased that she can match all her corporate skills and experience with a mission she cares about passionately. Barbara's daughters have been her inspiration, especially after the death of her middle daughter.

Matias Ringel '91, MA '92
Matias has been working as a hedge funds research analyst in New York at a company co-founded by a Brandeis alum. He has also become involved with a number of community service initiatives through the American Jewish Committee.

Eli Koen MA '93
Eli worked as a stock analyst in a variety of companies, including Goldman Sachs before joining Fortis Investments as a money manager in 2003. He is based in London and was recently featured in an article in The International Herald Tribune which reports that he "oversees the world's largest stock fund focusing on Turkey".

Andrew Rubenstein '90, MA '93
Andy got married to his wife Linsey in 2004. He sold his chain of liquor stores in Illinois that he has owned for the past 10 years and now focuses primarily on venture capital investing.

Adam Ostrow '94, MA '95
Adam received permanent residence in Canada last May, (his country of political exile). Adam lives in Vancouver with his partner of 9 years, Rod Tuengo, their two dogs and cat.

Olaf Unteroberdoerster, MS '98, PhD '98
Olaf moved to Hong Kong this past spring to become the new International Monetary Fund Resident Representative there. He also attended and spoke at the IBS Alumni Reunion held in September 2006.

Sara Norwick, MA '99
Sara is working for Sony in Germany and loves living in Berlin. Her job is fantastic, with ever-changing responsibilities and challenges. She really enjoys working with colleagues from across Europe and Japan.

Nihan Mert-Beydilli, MBA '00
Nihan was one of three to be promoted to vice president at NERA Economic Consulting and was a member of their Transfer Pricing Practice in Chicago, Illinois. She specializes in intercompany pricing and valuation analyses and her areas of expertise include designing pricing methodologies, determining appropriate intercompany prices, and many more. Nihan has advised multinational corporations in a variety of industries.

Ahmed El-Safty, PhD '01
Ahmed is currently a senior economist at the Arab Monetary Fund (AMF) in the United Arab Emirates. His responsibilities include providing expert advice to Arab countries performing financial and economic reforms, acting as a project manager for technical assistance programs to some of the member countries, and providing recommendations regarding how the AMF should adjust its strategies and policies to match the changing needs of its member countries. He lives in Abu Dhabi with his wife and two kids. His family really enjoys living in Abu Dhabi and traveling to Dubai (which is approximatly 100 miles away), as the two cities provide an exciting open and multicultural environment.

Inci Kaya-Ahmed, MBA '01
Inci is currently working as a Quantitative Analyst at Tower Group in Massachusetts where she specializes in benchmarking IT and business performance, modeling and projecting technology spending, and trends across the financial services industry. She is married and has a 15 month old son. She also spoke at the IBS Future Alumni Donor Dinner in May and attended the Alumni Reunion held in September 2006.

Pedro Malo, MA '01
After six years with McKinsey & Co., Pedro Malo joined Banc of America Securities where he will focus on Business Strategy and New Product Development.

David J. Williams, MBA '01
David married Jennifer Fankhauser on November 17, 2007, in Seattle. David is a finance manager with Expedia Inc., responsible for the strategic airline accounts; Jennifer is a process improvement manager with Washington Mutual.

Aarathi Shenoy, MA '02
Since leaving Brandeis in 2002, Aarathi has worked in various positions: she worked with Tata Interactive Systems (e-learning industry) developing content for finance-related simulations for MBA programs of the University of Phoenix. Her next job was as an assistant editor for 2 Mumbai-based magazines: Advanc'Edge MBA and The Global Educator. Aarathi then took up a job as a translator of children's books(Larousse)French-English. She is currently back in her former position as a teacher and translator at the Alliance Francaise of Madras. She has been here since August 2005.

Christopher got married this summer and recently got promoted to Senior Associate in the Health Industries Advisory practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers in Boston.

Majid Benjelloun, MA '03
Majid has been with Dell Inc. for almost two years, serving as the Casablanca site Capacity Planning Manager for the Southern Europe Region (France, Italy, Portugal and Greece). In this role, he manages all elements of contact center planning from real-time to long-term strategic planning, within the Customer Support Services organization.Prior to joining Dell Inc., he worked as an Institutional Sales for the largest Moroccan Asset Manager, WAFA GESTION, and ultimately became a Business Development Manager for them in 2005.

Robert Stadler, MA '04
Robert has been working with the Global Bank Group at Merrill Lynch in San Francisco for nearly 2 years now. His job is to drive distribution and revenue for various retail banking products within the Bay Area. In his spare time Robert plays drums in local acoustic rock band called Bag of Toys.

Since graduating from IBS, Eugenia enrolled in law school at Fordham University in New York, NY. She will be graduating this May and will be starting at the law firm Allen & Overy in New York in September 2008 as an associate.

Christos Theodorou '04, MA '05
In 2004, Christos started a consulting firm in Greece for small and medium sized companies named F. C. Theodorou S.A. Nicholas Bolt, MA '06
Nicholas is working as an Associate at Fortis Investments in Boston. His program allows him to do rotations to different investment centers around the world, manage a portfolio, and work with the senior portfolio managers, analysts and traders.

David got engaged this summer and is currently working as an Energy and Metals equities analyst for a hedge fund at Loomis Sayles, a Boston based money manager. David said he is very grateful for the opportunities that his Brandeis degree have helped open for him.

Paul recently accepted a position at Goldman Sachs as an Associate with their Principle Strategies group (investment management) in New York.

Irene Fishman '05, MA '06
Irene recently joined the Wealth Management Strategy Practice at Ineum, a Deloitte spinoff with a powerful presence in Europe that is seeking to grow in the United States. She will be working closely with Odyssey, a partner company that provides asset management and client reporting software for financial advisors that service high and ultra high net worth individuals.

Joran C. Lawrence MBA '06
Joran is enjoying his work at Monster Worldwide in Maynard, Massachusetts where he is building his management skills as a member of Monster's MBA Executive Development Program (MEDAL). Working with Monster's R&D, Technology, and New Products groups he is helping the company bring innovations to the marketplace. Joran is married to Janette Z. Lawrence (MA 2005). A memorable IBS moment is when Joran proposed to Janette at a formal IBS event on April 29th 2006. As an MBA Joran led the IBS Student Association, founded the Brandeis Net Impact Chapter, and spoke at graduation on behalf of the student body. More recently he attended the IBS Alumni Reunion, Future Alumni Donor Dinner and continues to participate in IBS activities when possible.

Jacob Baron '06, MA '07
Jacob moved to Manhattan and began a career in real estate at ING Clarion in their Special Servicing department. ING Clarion is Special Servicer for nearly $30 billion worth of commercial mortgage-backed securities pools, and Jacob assists in working out the loans that become delinquent in order to minimize loss. He is in the midst of working out approximately $120 million worth of securitized commercial mortgages collateralized by multifamily, office, retail and industrial properties. He says it is quite interesting as each loan workout presents different challenges and the experience has provided Jacob with insight into the CMBS world as well as owning distressed real estate assets.

Jeff is working at a startup company called Zintro in the Boston area with fellow IBS alum David Sim, MBA '07 and with Brandeis alum Stuart Lewtan '84.

Andrew Katz '06, MA '07
Andrew worked for a small debt financing firm for 6 months, decided it wasn't for him, left that position, and now works in a great position at Genworth Financial. Although the description of the Genworth position said it required 2+ years of experience, Andrew noted that his internship experience as well as his Masters at IBS helped him get a job going up against people who had many more years experience in the field.

Kully Nelson, MA '07
Kully Nelson is an International Trade Specialist with the US & Foreign Commercial Service in San Francisco. He works closely with AmericanEmbassies around the world to consult Bay Area companies on their export strategies overseas, mostly to China. After internships at Goldman Sachs and the US Embassy in China, he decided to pursue a calling to serve the federal government and directly apply his Mandarin language skills. He thinks the international nature of IBS and its student body was absolutely invaluable in preparation for a career in diplomacy."

Thea A. Kokhreidze, MBA '07
Thea is an analyst with EBRD and she enjoys being involved in various projects that greatly contribute to the development of Georgia's business and economic sector. After graduation, Thea had a better undertsanding of how much IBS prepared her in terms of education, friends and networking in the global economy. She recently hosted Professor John Ballantine in Georgia, who was in that part of the world this summer, while teaching at the World Financial Centers Program in Turkey.
