Individual Counseling

The Career Development Center invites all entering students for an introductory appointment to learn about the student’s career interests as well as inform them about the many career-related resources, activities, and events at Brandeis IBS. This type of counseling helps you focus your job search, write top-notch resumes, improve your interviewing skills, and ultimately maximize your placement options.

Launching Your Global Career Course

We offer a career education course called “Launching Your Global Career.”  The goal of this course is to provide you with a foundation and necessary tools for identifying target positions, conducting an effective and efficient job search and building career-planning and job-search skills that will be useful throughout your career.

Workshops

Throughout the year, the Career Development Center hosts a variety of workshops and panels to educate, prepare, and support you in your job search process. Workshop topics build on the skills taught in the career education class and include networking, specialized mock interviews (e.g., telephone interviews, team dynamic interviews, case interviews), dining etiquette, industry-specific interview questions, developing stories to demonstrate skills and experiences, industry and company research, alumni communications and salary negotiation.  We also offer industry-focused panels which draw on alumni, faculty, experts and visiting executives from various fields and industries who share insights and advice.

Executives-in-Residence Program

Brandeis IBS has seven executives-in-residence who are experienced business executives that volunteer their time to offer advice and closer connections to the corporate world. These executives provide mock interviews, strategic career advice and serve as sounding boards for tactical job search questions.

Job Search Resources

We offer a wealth of online resources on various career topics, industries, career fields, and organizations and provide instruction on using the many available tools.
