Computer Cluster & PhD Lab
The Brandeis IBS computer cluster is located in the second level of the Sachar Building and is available to all students, faculty and staff. The computer lab is open anytime students are normally granted access to the building. The computer clusters are equipped with:
- 36 Dell Optiplex 755 computers
- 1 scanner
- 1 printer
- 1 photocopy system
In addition to these systems, the private PhD Lab is home to an additional six matching computers (for the use of PhD students only).
TO LOG IN: Press the Control (CTRL), Alt, and Delete keys simultaneously. Then Click "Switch Users" and type in your username and password and hit "Enter".
NOTE: Computer labs are open during semester breaks and between semesters at reduced hours. Clusters of Apple computers are available in the Goldfarb Library and the Farber Computer Classroom (when class is not in session). Visit the LTS website for more information on campus wide computer clusters.
Dell Optiplex 755 computers
These computers come equipped with Windows 7 - 64bit and the latest releases of licensed software. There is a printing and copying station located in the computer cluster for any of your printing needs.
These systems are "refreshed" multiple times per semester. During a refresh, all files on the computer are wiped clean. It is highly recommended that users do not save files directly to these systems as the technology office will not be liable for any lost data due to a system refresh.
