Description: Prerequisite: FIN 201a or FIN 205a. Introduces many of the approaches financial institutions take to model, quantify, and manage risk. Types of risk covered include financial (equity, interest rate, and credit), as well as operational. Students will be expected to have some exposure to financial derivatives from FIN 201a or 301a as well as to the basic concepts from calculus and statistics. Usually offered every year.
