Waseda University
Founded in 1882, Waseda University is one of Japan's leading universities. It is a private, co-educational institution located in the northwest section of Tokyo. The university is large, with more than 45,700 undergraduates and about 8,500 graduate students, of whom only a few hundred are enrolled in economics and commerce courses. The university is known for its liberal climate symbolized in its motto, "independence of learning".
