2013

2013 Commencement will take place on May 19th, 2013

Brandeis University's Commencement Day is Sunday, May 19th, 2013. Please be aware that there are TWO commencement exercises. The first is the IBS 'Mini' Commencement. It will begin at 8:00 a.m. sharp and will be held in Levin Hall (upper campus in the Usdan Building). This is the ceremony where your name will be called and you will receive your diploma as you walk to the stage. It is also where your elected student leader from IBS will speak and give a personal message to all classmates. This is an IBS-specific ceremony.

Immediately following this ceremony is the main University-wide commencement, beginning at 10:30 a.m. All IBS grads will march together (led by Kate and the Dean) from Levin down to Gosman Sports and Convocation Center for a much larger ceremony which includes all the Brandeis 2013 graduates. Usually there is a very notable keynote speaker as well as distinguished honorary degree recipients (such as world famous cellist Yo-Yo Ma, who performed for the audience a couple of years ago).
