Notes for graduating students:

Brandeis Commencement Invitations: We invite you to stop by Student Services to pick up one or two printed Commencement invitations. Most student send these to family and friends, or keep them for scrap books. Please do NOT confuse these with actual Commencement tickets (see below).

OPT: If you are an international student and are planning to stay in the U.S. to work, be sure to apply for OPT. This can take up to 3 months. Please visit the ISSO website (found here) for more information or contact Matt Rocker at Student Services.

Travel Letters: Do you need a travel letter for International family members coming to graduation? They will need a special letter to present for visa approval. Request forms can be found on ISSO's web page (found here).

Tickets: You will NOT need tickets for the IBS Commencement, however you WILL need tickets for the University-wide Commencement ceremony. Each graduate will be able to get up to 5 tickets. If you will not be needing all 5, please check around, as there are many students who will be hosting more than 5 family members/friends.

Tickets may be picked up as follows in Kutz hall, in the Graduate Student lounge (across from the Registrar's Office), on the following dates:

  • Tuesday, May 7, 12:00 to 7:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, May 8, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, May 9, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Students must present their Brandeis ID or a picture ID in order to pick up their tickets. If for some reason you are not able to pick them up yourself, you can ask a friend, and send an email to Angela Fragala-Garger at garger@brandeis.edu saying that "X is authorized to pick up Commencement tickets on my behalf (and include how many you need). "

Caps and Gowns: These will be distributed following the IBS Commencement Rehearsal and Graduates' Luncheon on Friday, May 17th.
