"Quiet Place"

December 28, 2005

Friends, family and colleagues of the late Cresenta Fernando '96 MS '99
PhD '02 gathered on Sunday, September 25 to dedicate a "Quiet Place" in his memory adjacent to the Lemberg Academic Center. Fernando was working for the World Bank when he became a victim of the Sri Lanka Tsunami in December, 2005.

The special landscaped setting overlooks protected woods and wetlands, and includes a sitting area conducive for contemplation. Among those celebrating Cresenta's life were his widow, Ariele Cohen '99, Brandeis friends and faculty, and Dean Peter Petri.

If you would like to make a donation in honor of Cresenta, please go to AFLAC International or email Dineli Mendis at dineli@aflacinternational.com
