Entrepreneur Forum: Evangelos Simoudis, PhD '91, Managing Director, Trident Capital

Dr Evangelos Simoudis joined Trident Capital in 2005 where he leads investments in software and Internet businesses.  Prior to joining Trident, Evangelos was a partner at the private equity firm Apax Partners, where he led investments in enterprise software and served as a member of the board of directors at Bristol Technology, Composite Software, Confluent Software and Princeton Softech.  Prior to entering venture capital, Dr. Simoudis had more than 20 years experience in high-technology industries, in executive roles spanning operations, marketing, sales and engineering. 

 

Prior to joining Apax Partners, he was the president and chief executive officer of Customer Analytics a venture-backed, eCRM company that has been acquired by Xchange, Inc. (NASDAQ: EXAP).  

 

Prior to founding Customer Analytics, he led the worldwide operations of IBM’s business intelligence solutions division.  At IBM he oversaw the development, marketing, sales, and delivery of data mining, data warehousing and decision support solutions for Fortune 500 companies in financial services, insurance, telecommunications, retail, health care, and travel industries.   Prior to that he held positions at Lockheed Corporation, and Digital Equipment Corporation.

 

During his career, he has helped to forge new inroads in the fields of analytics, data warehousing, and customer relationship management.  He has written and lectured widely on these topics at conferences and universities.

 

Evangelos holds a Ph.D. in computer science from Brandeis University and a B.S. in electrical engineering from the California Institute of Technology.
