CEO Forum: Michael Oberman ’64, Owner, Chairman and CEO, Omeda Incorporated.

Students interested in entrepreneurship and marketing are strongly encouraged to send an email to karenbb@brandeis.edu if they would like the opportunity to participate in a round table discussion with Mr. Oberman. Space is limited. Two weeks before the event, we will select a group of students who have expressed interest.

The title of his talk will be "Entrepreneurship, Ethics and Marketing in Today's Business World" at a round table Luncheon.

Mike Oberman graduated from Culver Military Academy in 1960. He then earned his BA in Sociology and Philosophy from Brandeis University in 1964 followed by an MBA in Marketing from the Kellogg School (Northwestern University) in 1966. Mike is also an Honor Graduate of the Air War College at Lackland AFB after which he served six years in the Illinois Air National Guard, receiving an Honorable Discharge as a 1st Lt. in 1972. His business career began in Business to Business Publishing, working on Scrap Age Magazine and then founding Waste Age Magazine both of which are still published today. . Mike started Omeda, Inc in 1982 and serves as the company's chairman and CEO. He has led it to a pre-eminent position in the field of Database Management, E-mail Deployment, and Circulation Management for the Media industry. Omeda has over 150 employees in Northbrook, Illinois. He has served on the Board of Trustees of Rush North Shore Medical Center and is currently a Member of the Board of The Ryan Center at the Lyric Opera of Chicago. In years past, Mike has also served on the Boards of the Northbrook Hockey League, The Illinois Speed Skating Association, Moriah Congregation in Deerfield, Illinois, the Jewish Community Center, and the Jewish United Fund. He has recently been appointed to the Zoning Board of Mettawa, Illinois. Mike is also an avid golfer who belongs to Twin Orchard Country Club in Long Grove, Illinois. . He lives with his wife of 39 years, Margo, in Mettawa, Illinois north of Chicago. He and his wife are members of Anshe Emet Congregation in Chicago, Illinois. The couple has four sons, two of whom, Aaron and Matt, are active in Omeda, two daughters-in-law, Alicia-Aaron's wife, an attorney and Matt's wife, Naomi. Aaron and Alicia have three daughters , Isabel, Hannah and Olivia. Matt and Naomi are expecting their first at the end of November. . One son, Ethan, is an entrepreneur in the computer software field and the other son, Daniel is a musician and film scorer in Hollywood.
