Barry A. Kaplan, is currently President and Founder of Maple Tree Capital Management, LLC, a private investment firm, which manages public and private investments in the media, telecom, entertainment, and leisure industries on behalf of clients. Prior to that, until May 2002, he was a partner and Managing Director at Goldman, Sachs & Company, where he worked for more than 16 years, most of that time as an analyst in the Investment Research Department, covering media and telecom companies. He is an eleven-time Institutional Investor All-Star, including several years in multiple industry categories. He also co-headed all communications and media research for the firm. During 2001 and 2002 Mr. Kaplan managed proprietary investments for Goldman, Sachs' Equity Division. Prior to joining Goldman, Sachs & Co. in 1986, Mr. Kaplan was an equity analyst at Bear, Stearns & Co. and A.G. Becker. Prior to that, he worked in the finance department of the NBC Television Stations division of NBC. Mr. Kaplan is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts and the Media and Entertainment Analysts Association of New York. He has a BA degree from Brandeis University (1977), where he is a member of the Board of Overseers of the Brandeis International Business School, and an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania(1980). |
