GSIEF plans new Academic Center As part of its strategic plan for excellence, GSIEF is planning to build a new Academic Center, connected by a bridge to the existing Sachar Center. The Center will almost double the size of our current GSIEF academic facilities, permitting the School to continue to increase faculty, staff and enrollments during the coming years. The facility is scheduled to open in the fall of 2003.
The new building will make the most of the School's dramatic wooded setting on top of a hill on the Brandeis campus. The Center will be seamlessly connected to the existing Sachar International Center, which will retain some of its favorite student and academic spaces. The design also makes it possible for the School to continue in operation throughout the construction.
The building will include classrooms with the latest in presentation and media equipment, spaces where students can work in teams, a wing for staff and faculty offices, and amenities such as a cafC).
