Trying to make sense of a volatile business climate? This spring, the School's CEO Forum brings together an exceptional group of visitors to shed light on markets, strategy, ethics and entrepreneurship.
They include Hardwick Simmons, the CEO of Nasdaq, the market most directly affected by the technology bubble; Orit Gadiesh, the charismatic chairwoman of Bain & Company, one of the nation's leading consulting firms; and Ira Jackson, the President of the Arthur M. Blank Foundation, a major new philanthropy.
James Foster, the CEO of Charles River Laboratories, recently named "Entrepreneur of the Year" by Forbes magazine, will give the first annual "Asper Entrepreneurship Lecture." Notes Forbes, "After mighty struggles, James Foster has made breeding small animals into a hugely profitable business."
These and many other distinguished visitors feature prominently in GSIEF's curriculum, as several courses now build sessions with leading practitioners directly into their structure. For example, "Corporations and Communities," taught by Professor Michael Appell, focuses on corporate interactions with civil society, and features guests ranging from NGO leaders and corporate compliance officers to managers of socially responsible portfolios.
