The Asper Center for Global Entrepreneurship

LTS IMAGE

In April 2006, IBS dedicated the Asper Center on Global Entrepreneurship and recognized the leadership team of Firaxis Games as winners of the 2006 Asper Entrepreneurship Award. The Asper Award was given to the leaders of Firaxis Games-Jeffrey Briggs, Sid Meier and Jonathan Plutzik '76. Firaxis is a world renowned game development studio and makers of the game "Civilization" which has been called the "Greatest Computer Strategy Game of All-Time" by Time magazine. The award honors their outstanding success in the global marketplace through development of creative products that span geographic and cultural boundaries, integration of technology, marketing and business strategy, uncommon attention to detail and execution, and exemplary corporate citizenship. The day also featured a lively panel discussion lead by Wall Street Journal columnist Walter Mossberg '69 as well as a "Global Civilization Tournament."

Interested in Playing?
If you are interested in taking part in either the game and/or the tutorials, please contact Reetu Sharma by e-mail, letting her know which Brandeis program you are in, whether you are student/faculty/staff, and if you have played Civilization IV before and to what level.
LTS IMAGE As there are a limited number of places in the tournament, preference will be given to students from IBS/Brandeis and those with greater experience at playing the game. We will contact you nearer the time to confirm whether you will be in the tournament.

Please bear in mind that you must be able to make a firm commitment to playing on April 8 - it is important that every seat at the tournament is filled on the day.

The tournament will be followed by lunch and the prize-giving. The winners of the tournament will win signed Civilization IV memorabilia . Every participant will receive a Civ IV poster.

See a video of the dedication.
